Summary:

Not worth it, feels sticky and heavy, hard to pat in, leaves the common sunscreen white cast on your face. It goes against it's marketed attributes, and I found it greasy, shiny and bad for sensitive skin. I don't recommend this moisturizer+spf as it will probably make you look ghastly and pale, unless you want that look...

This is a mineral moisturizer + spf from Paula’s Choice, the popular cosmetic company. Part of the Hydra Light range, this is marketed for a variety of skins, Normal, Oily, Combination, but I feel it doesn’t do a great job for Oily skin at all. I recommend people to instead buy a moisturizer + spf for specifically oily skin if you have it. A lot of people with oily skin have reviewed this product badly.

Some people have reviewed this as being light, non-greasy and an all around great product, I found it to be the opposite, so either the reviews are fake, or this product gives widely different results for different skin types. It’s a mineral complex, so it will probably leave you with that white cast you often get with most physical sunscreens as it contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. If this isn’t what you were looking for, then you will probably not enjoy using this product. It also doesn’t seem to work well with various brands of makeup, and some other reviewers have commented it aggravates their acne.

It claims to leave a matte finish on it’s product description, which I didn’t experience, nor did it feel especially moisturizing. It also claims to be shine free, which wasn’t true for me. It also stung a bit when I used it sometimes, so the sensitive skin claim in it’s official product description also seems untrue.

Essentially I feel this product is marketed badly, as it is probably a reasonable product for some people, but they’ve tried to make a broad range moisturizer+spf to boost sales. It will disappoint customers who it doesn’t work for, and even cause their skin to be worse. In this respect, I’m rating it down, even though I usually rate Paula’s Choice products very highly.
